Duskvale

Build the sound of your own night

Not a finished scene — a mixer

Most ambient apps hand you a finished recording: “Rain in the forest”, “Fireplace”. Duskvale hands you the layers instead. Start the rain, slide a distant wind underneath it, keep the fire low — and you end up with a night nobody else has.

There are six families of layers, 28 recordings in all. Each family has its own volume slider, and you can run as many of them at once as you like.

How it works

The sound catalogue

Every recording ships inside the app. Nothing is streamed: it works the same on a plane, on the underground or in airplane mode, and it spends none of your mobile data.

The loop points were trimmed by hand, so a recording starting over gives you no click and no gap. Sound fades in over 0.7 seconds and out over 0.9.

The colour side

A colour panel sits on the same screen as the mixer. Drag your finger across the wheel to pick a colour and add it to your list; tap Visualize and those colours become a full-screen fluid field. The blobs do not stay round — they flow into each other, and the pattern never repeats.

If your phone has “reduce motion” turned on, the visualiser holds still: it draws a single frame rather than leaving the screen blank.

No account, no sign-up

Duskvale opens and works. It asks for no e-mail, makes you register nothing, and sends nothing to a server of ours. All it keeps on your phone is the interface language you picked and your favourite mixes; your colour list lives only for that session.

Deleting the app deletes everything the app has — there is no account left behind.
